The essence of this method is that special devices are implanted in the cavity of the penis. This method is performed exclusively under general anesthesia.
There are three types of endoprostheses - semi-rigid, hydraulic and rigid.
Rigid penile prostheses are cheaper than hydraulic and semi-rigid ones; however, they are not as popular and are rarely used in surgery. This is due to the fact that this type of endoprosthesis does not possess plastic memory nor can it change the degree of its stiffness. In the case of a semi-rigid phalloprosthesis (one piece) its stiffness is also preserved. Lipofilling refers to minimally invasive plastic surgery. And it has a number of advantages over the method described above, but it is more aimed at not increasing the length of the phallus, but its thickness.
Lipofilling involves the introduction of biomaterial (the patient's adipose tissue) under the skin of the penis, so in addition to this procedure it is necessary to perform liposuction. The use of the patient's fat cells often precludes the presence of allergic reactions, but it can lead to inflammatory processes.
Lipofilling is performed in several phases:
- First of all, liposuction is performed. That is, the required amount of biomaterial is pumped out of the patient's stomach, legs or buttocks.

Biomaterial for transplantation is taken from the operated person, from the abdominal wall or armpit.
